SAI Freight was established in 1986 by Mr. Mohd. Shafiq Vohra, our chairman duly assisted by Mr. Parvez S. Vohra our Managing Director who anticipated the need to form a natural extension of his shipping agency experience of 20 years so as to cover “all destinations by all modes under one roof”.

This vision resulted in providing the trade with a combined expertise merging exporters & importers worldwide with a network based on performance & reliability.

Satisfaction of clients as well as principals & associates soon became the trademark of sai freight. By employing highly qualified & devoted personnel to market and systemise it’s operation, SAI Freight instilled confidence and thus secured it’s position in this industry.

OBJECTIVES

Embarking on a mission to spread it’s wings, SAI Freight entered into agreement with reputable shipowners, ship managers, charterers, brokers, tug-owners & freight forwarding companies in practically every nook & corner resulting in an enviable 182 worldwide partner-ships as on date. Subsequently, networking was completed in India as an outcome establishing our own office in Delhi, Madras, Calcutta, Ludhiana & Moradabad with sub-agency agreements in Hyderabad, Cochin, Tuticorin, Mangalore, Kandla & Indore.

This fulfilled our prime objective to bring about a mainstream provided by a shipping agency and ancillary services offered by forwarders linking all aspects of movement.

After serving the trade with a wide spectrum of products backed by a wide choice of options, SAI Freight is now selecting markets that show great potential in terms of growth. To achieve a level of success SAI Freight is inviting shipping lines to come forward and exploit the untapped areas of operations in India.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

SAI Freight works closely with their principals & shippers to consistently meet critical timetables of transport requirements.

The company specializes in customer care however, small or big the parcel or client is.

Tailor-made breakbulk vessels are offered regularly to charterers & brokers for the substantial amount of conventional cargoes that still move in/out of India. SAI Freight, being well connected in the Danish market, provide regular sailings from the west coast of India to the Red sea & Meditteranean belt. Regular parcels of lentils/chick pease are handled into on behalf of messers ASP Shipping based in Singapore & Egypt, Europe, Meditteranean is well covered on the representation of seabox lines in the U.K.

Large quantities of FCL containers on worldwide routes are taken care of under the SAI Freight M.T.O. banner (Multimodal Transport Operator) based on a recognition by the Indian government as being a principal cargo carrier. Such bookings are shipped on our slot arrangements with numerous lines as well as through our own system of feedering our principal’s units to a transhipment port for connection on mother vessels.

SAI Freight are pioneers of LCL Consolidations generating regular export consols for distribution via the 3 hubs namely; ANTWERP (to take care of South America / USA East Coast / Canada / Europe & Meditteranean) Dubai (covering all Gulf / Iran & C.I.S.) & Singapore (on-forwarding to us West Coast, all far East & Australia/New Zealand). These services are backed by a cargo tracking department providing day-to-day feedback right from stuffing of shipments / upto delivery to the consignee or in most cases “door delivery”.

Heavy lift movement is easily handled with support from owners of self sustained vessels wherein SAI Freight has been known as turnkey project experts.

IMCO Shipments/Hazardous Cargoes – enquiries are acceptable and SAI Freight holds the distinction of handling explosives, safety fuses & detonators on behalf of leading Indian manufacturers namely : IDL & ICI.

Reverse selling for import LCL’s & FCl’s has now become an active part of SAI Freight’s marketing team offering importers a custom built pick-up facility at any given point worldwide. Importers are given package deals whereby they are closely informed of progress with their suppliers.

FLEXITANK

A concept promoted by transocean distribution / USA is the newest of SAI Freight’s prodcts enabling shippers & consignees to move their non-hazardous liquid shipments in dry containers. Recent accounts secured include Indian Oil who receive regular consignements of lubes from mobil & shell.

Airfreight export is being developed with concentration so much that sai freight will soon acquire IATA recognition. Import consols by air is another feature that is being exploited considering the growing trend on the spare part market.

Last but not the least, SAI offers Seair combined services (by sea to Dubai & on-ward by air) giving clients a tremendous saving order direct air.
